Man found dead after hijacking

A hijacking left a man dead on Friday night, in Olievenhoutbosch, Centurion.

A man was shot dead in a hijacking on the corner Monate and Murubi streets, in Olievenhoutbosch Ext 36, Centurion, on Friday night.

Olievenhoutbosch police spokesperson Constable Malefu Makena said police found the man dead around 22:00 at the intersection.

Makena said witnesses saw a man approaching a motorist in a white Audi.

“He opened fire on the driver,” said Makena

“He then opened the door of the Audi, and pulled the driver out onto the ground.”

The hijacker then sped off in the man’s vehicle.

Makena said a case of murder and hijacking was opened at the Olievenhoutbosch police station.
