Taxi crash leaves 19 injured

Nineteen people injured when a taxi drove into a tree in Centurion.

Nineteen people were injured when a taxi crashed into a tree in Centurion on Wednesday morning, paramedics said.

Emer-G-Med spokesperson Braam Kruger said this happened on Wierda Road just after 8:15.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the taxi had left the roadway and crashed into a tree. All the nineteen passengers in the taxi suffered moderate to minor injuries,” he said.

Kruger said the injured were taken to various hospitals for further treatment.

“The cause of the accident is not clear,” he said.
