United Bodyguards & Security recently shared a video of a drug bust in progress.
The video shows how a dealer hands a man the drugs, after which he gets busted by a security guard in disguise.
The security company shared the video to create awareness of how easy it is to obtain drugs on our streets.
United Bodyguards & Security CEO Wesley Roux said Orchards in the north of Pretoria was especially targeted by drug dealers.
“We made a few busts the past month and caught people with CAT and more expensive drugs such as Crystal Meth.”
Roux said several people had been arrested in collaboration with Akasia police.
On Wednesday, three teenagers were caught at a complex with Crystal Meth in their possession.
Roux said they were found in a bathroom trying to flush small plastic bags down a toilet.
The two boys and a girl caught by the guards failed to hide the drugs which they couldn’t flush away in time.
“The girl tried to hide the small packet with drugs in her hair,” Roux said.
Police were alerted and confiscated the drugs and arrested the youngsters.
Police were not immediately able to comment.
In a previous drug bust, as shown on video, a drug dealer was picked up by an unmarked vehicle.
After the undercover security guard receives two small plastic bags containing CAT from the dealer, he gets out of the vehicle and orders the dealer to lie down.
The man was arrested and the drugs confiscated.
