Six police officers injured in accident
Six police officers were taken to hospital after being involved in an accident in Montana on Wednesday.
Six police officers were transported to hospital after their Toyota Quantum collided with two other cars in Montana on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan Van Dyk said this happened on Sefako Makgatho Drive near the N1 highway.
The officers were from Klipgat police en route to Silverton to collect their uniforms, he said.
“A Honda Civic and a Nissan Bakkie were also involved in the collision. Six police officials and the female driver of the Civic were taken to hospital. No other injuries were reported.”
Traffic was affected as police were clearing the scene.
“A charge of reckless and negligent driving was opened. We are still trying to find out what caused the accident.”
