The manager of an internet café in Valhalla, Centurion was shot and wounded in a robbery on Tuesday night.
OrangeFox spokesperson Vanessa Jacobs said four armed men entered the premises around 22:50.
“They demanded money and keys to the safe.”
The manager said there was no safe but the men did not believe him.
Jacobs said a scuffle ensued, which culminated in one of the armed men shooting the manager in the leg.
As the robbers grabbed the manager’s wallet, he begged them not to take his driver’s licence. But they took the licence and the cash before throwing his wallet back to him.
“The men proceeded to loot cellphones, watches, laptops and money before they fled the premises in an unknown vehicle.”
Jacobs said OrangeFox medics attended to the man’s wounds and ER24 took him to hospital.
“The manager is in a stable condition,” she said.
A business robbery docket was opened at the Wierdabrug police station.
Jacobs said other security firms, MonitorNet and Copwatch also arrived at the scene.
