Intruders fire shots at response officer
Armed men fired at a response officer after he responded to an alarm.

Two armed men fired shots at a response officer on Saturday when he responded to an alarm in Rooihuiskraal on Saturday.
Monitor Net general manager Paul Gerber said the reaction officer arrived at the premises on Barbet Street to inspect the alarm.
He found a parked white BMW reversed in the driveway, he said.
“He saw two men by the car and suddenly they pulled out a firearm.”
He said the men fired shots at the officer.
The officer retreated to take cover and started shooting back at the intruders.
“At that stage, the men had already started the car and fled the scene in the BMW”, Gerber said.
The officer was not injured.
“We do not know if the officer hit the intruders but one shot hit the officer’s vehicle.”
The men fled with electrical equipment.
“It was a positive break-in. Wierdabrug police is investigating the case.”
Police could not yet confirm the incident or give further information.
