A man was expected to appear in court on Monday in connection with the brutal murder of a police officer in his Moot home.
A man was arrested in connection with the brutal murder of police officer Renier Lourens Lagois, and would appear in court on Monday.
Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said the man was apprehended on Friday night.
“A suspect has been arrested and will be appearing in court today. The investigations are still at a sensitive stage,” he told Rekord.
Lieutenant-Colonel Logois (51) was found dead in his home in 20th Avenue, the Moot last week, and his car was missing.
Investigators found 14 ammunition cartridges at the scene.
Logois had been stationed at Loate police station in Soshanguve.
Hawks’ national head Lieutenant-General Mthandazao Ntlemeza said the culprits were placed on a list of most-wanted criminals.
“We have previously said the murder of a police officer is a declaration of war against the state. The murder of an officer is a serious threat to the security of our country,” Ntlemeza said.
