Centurion woman shot in driveway
A woman suffered gun shot wounds to both her legs when three men fled with her cellphone in Wierda Park at the weekend.

A woman was shot in both legs when three alleged thieves fled with her cell phone in Wierda Park, Centurion on Saturday.
OrangeFox spokesperson Vanessa Jacobs said about three men robbed the woman after spotting her climbing out of her vehicle to close her gate.
“While the woman was closing the gate the men came towards her” said Jacobs.
She said when the woman was inside her car, the men tapped her window as though to indicate that the woman must open her window.
Jacobs said the men shot through the window, striking the woman’s legs.
“The bullet pierced through one of the woman’s legs and through the second leg,” said Jacobs.
She said it was the neighbour, a senior member of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS), that pressed the panic button to notify other firms including police.
“The men quickly fled the scene with woman’s cellphone.
Jacobs said Wierdabrug sector 3 (CPF) MonitorNet, ADT, Emer-G-Med, OrangeFox including police were at the scene.
She said the police detectives were still to take finger prints and document the scene.
Emer-G-med spokesperson Braam Kruger said the woman suffered gun shot wounds to both her legs.
“She was moderately injured and transported to a nearby hospital.”
Kruger said police were investigating.
