Four Tanzanian nationals were arrested after they were found in possession of drugs in Pretoria CBD on Sunday.
The men, aged between 25 and 32 were caught during a police operation around 11:45, said Captain Augustinah Selepe.
“While police were conducting a ‘stop and search’ in Jeff Masemola Street opposite Taveners, they noticed a suspicious man running to the toilet. They followed and caught him trying to flush the drugs down the toilet,” she said.
Selepe said the perpetrator was then taken to his flat nearby.
“Upon arrival, police found three tenants and immediately searched them. During the search, 12 packets of ‘rock’ drugs were found together with space bottles and equipment used for drug manufacturing,” she said.
Selepe said the four men will appear at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of dealing in drugs and manufacturing drugs.
