Five people were arrested on Monday after a naked man was found stabbed in a veld in Elardus Park in the morning.
A resident alerted security officers of screaming outside a complex on Oukraal Street, said Bull Security area manager French Jooste.
“Our officers responded and found a man badly stabbed and beaten. He was left naked and covered in blood in the veld.”
Jooste said as the security officers arrived on the scene, his apparent attackers scattered in different directions, trying to run away.
Bull Security officers gave chase and captured all five men.
Jooste said all the men had blood on their hands. House-breaking tools were also seized.
“The men were taken to the Lyttelton police station and an attempted murder docket was opened. These suspects can also be linked to numerous other crimes in Elardus Park.”
The stabbed man was treated by paramedics at the scene as he was losing a lot of blood.
“He was taken to hospital and is in a critical condition.”
