Girl found dead in Mamelodi

A young girl was found dead in Mamelodi on Friday afternoon.

Bystanders said a municipal cleaner saw a head peeping out from under a black refuse bag near the entrance of the Rethabile Sports Ground in Mamelodi east.

The decomposed body was wrapped in a black bag, with braids still attached to the skull.

Policecould not confirm the identity of the girl immediately.

Forensics and pathologists were still to arrive on the scene by 13:30.
