Some of the armed killers behind two separate murders in Pretoria West on the same day are still on the run.
Police spokesperson Captain Louise Reed said police wanted to question Lucky Mnisi as they believed he could be of help in their investigation.
Mnisi used to move around Soshanguve, Ga-Rankuwa or Mabopane.
He was being sought in connection with the killing of a 28-year-old man in a robbery in Pretoria West on 2 March last year.
This happened on the corner of Eskia Mphahlele Drive and Vom Hagen Street outside Check In and Meat Wholesalers.
One of the attackers grabbed a bag from the victim while another shot him. He died on the scene.
Reed said the robbers fled in a red Toyota Corolla and drove towards Marabastad. The vehicle was later found abandoned on the Mabopane highway.
“Two suspects were arrested in connection with the case and the police are looking for Lucky Mnisi for questioning in the case. He is 1.7m tall and could be in any other part of Gauteng,” Reed said.
She said in another crime on the same day, three armed men killed the owner of Toyco Auto Spares at 346 Souter Street.
“The three armed men entered the business and while two of them kept an eye on the door, the third suspect jumped over the counter and grabbed a bag with money from the teller,” said Reed.
“The owner of the business came from the back to enquire what was going on. One of the suspects standing at the door shot him in the back. He died on the scene. The suspects fled in a white Toyota Corolla without a registration number.”
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the attackers in both crimes could call Sergeant Molekeng on 072-285-0597 or 082-365-3507.
