Man shot on Tiegerpoort smallholding

Man shot and inured on smallholding in the east of Pretoria.

A man was shot and wounded on a smallholding in Tiegerpoort, east of Pretoria,  late on Tuesday night.

Tyron Harding (26) was hit in the hip when he went outside to check on a noise.

“He [Harding] heard his dogs barking outside his home. While walking through the house, he saw one of the outside doors standing wide open. When he walked up, he was shot in the hip,” said police spokesperson Captain Marissa van der Merwe.

“Ambulance services were called in and the man was transported to hospital via helicopter.”

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Van der Merwe said details of exactly what happened were sketchy.

“At this stage we are unsure what the suspect looked like and how many there were. We have opened an attempted murder docket and we are investigating.”

She urged anyone with information on the matter to call the Welbekend police station on 011-964-2050.
