Details on east shooting sketchy

Police were still gathering information after a man was shot in his yard in Tiegerpoort earlier this week.

Police were on Thursday still trying to establish the exact events that led to a shooting east of Pretoria earlier this week.

Tyron Harding (26) was wounded in the hip when he went outside to check on a noise on his Tiegerpoort smallholding.

“No arrests have been made yet,” said police spokesperson Captain Marissa van der Merwe.

She said Harding heard dogs barking outside his home on Tuesday night.

“While walking through the house, he saw one of the outside doors standing wide open. When he walked up, he was shot in the hip.”

Paramedics were contacted and Harding was airlifted to hospital.

“We are still trying to establish the details of the event.”
