Eersterust police chased down and arrested a 26-year-old man, suspected of dealing in drugs last week.
The man was found in possession of CAT and dagga.
“Police received information from residents there was a young man selling drugs to their children at the Riverside flats in Soutrivier,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo.
“A thorough description of the drug dealer was given.”
The police hastened to the scene where the suspect had last been seen.
“On arrival, they managed to track down a person fitting the description of the suspect,” said Shibambo.
“They questioned the man and he tried to flee from them. The two police officials out-sprinted him and managed to catch and restrain him.”
Police found drugs in the man’s possession.
“The bag he was carrying contained dagga and 11 packets of CAT with an estimated street value of R1 100.”
He was arrested and would appear in court soon.
