Shop owner killed in robbery
A Bangladeshi shop owner was shot and killed during a robbery at Block XX in Soshanguve on Tuesday night.

A 26-year-old Bangladeshi has been shot and killed in a robbery at Block XX in Soshanguve, police said.
Three armed men stormed hi’s shop around 9.30pm on Tuesday, said police spokesperson Captain Rheineth Motlana.
They robbed the shop of an undisclosed amount of money before shooting the owner dead.
“Residents gave chase, and one suspect was caught,” said Motlana.
The suspect was severely assaulted, and has since been admitted to the Dr George Mukhari Hospital.
“A case of murder is being investigated and we hope to arrest the other suspects involved,” said Motlana.
Motlana said police were hoping the suspect recovers so that he can help them with the investigation.

Friends who were close to the deceased Bangladesh man told police that he did not try to fight or resist, his cousin said the men complied with the robbers but they still shot him.
He was hit on his right side, the bullet stopping close to his right hip.
