Police were on Friday searching for three of four men who shot and wounded a shop owner in Plastic View informal settlement.
The shop owner, who is a Pakistani national, was shot and wounded during an alleged robbery on Monday, police said.
According to Captain Jan Sepato, the four men forced their way into the shop around 12:00 before shooting the owner twice in the chest.
“Following the shooting, the suspects fled the scene on foot. Community patrollers were alerted almost immediately and searched for the four suspects. One was found hiding in Moreleta Park an hour later.”
The perpetrator was arrested and taken to the Silverton police station.
Sepato said it was not clear what the suspected robbers stole from the shop.
“We are still investigating if this was a dispute or robbery. The victim is recovering in hospital.
“After lengthy delays, the suspect is expected to appear in court on Friday. Hopefully he can lead us to the arrest of his follow accomplices,” said Sepato.
