Pretoria West police provide anti-burglary tips

Police provide safety tips for Pretoria West residents following an increase in home burglaries and hijackings.

Following the increase of house burglaries and hijackings in Pretoria West, police have released safety tips.

Police spokesperson Captain Louise Reed-Steynberg warned residents of Pretoria West and surrounding areas to be vigilant all the times.

“House burglaries are becoming a bigger problem in the west of Pretoria.”

Steynburg said most of the house burglaries happened during the day when nobody was home.

“The community is urged to get involved in the prevention of crime. Get involved with the CPF, get to know your neighbours and be the eyes and ears of the police but for the benefit of the community,” she said.

Police also warned motorists to be careful when driving in Van der Hoff Road.

Three people were recently robbed in two separate occasions on the road.

Anyone with information regarding home burglaries is requested to call 012-327-4907 X 211 during office hours.
