NEWSFLASH: Police nab man wanted for numerous crimes
Police pounced on man carrying stolen goods, on Thursday afternoon
A man was arrested in possession of stolen goods on Lynnwood road near the N1 east of Pretoria on Thursday.
Garsfontein police spokesperson Warrant Officer Dave Miller said the 36-year-old man was arrested after the police crime prevention unit spotted a white panel van that matched the description of a vehicle reported for various criminal activities.
“The unit stopped the vehicle only to find heaps of cigarette boxes traced to a robbery in the Witbank area.”
Miller said the man was apprehended and it was later discovered that the man had previous warrants of arrests against him.
“A house robbery in Akasia, a fraud in Sunnyside and possession of stolen goods in Wierdabrug, Centurion where some of the warrants of arrests against the 36-year-old,” Miller said.
He said the man was charged with possession of stolen goods and would appear at the Pretoria Magistrates Court soon.
