Generations star’s ‘hijacker’ denied bail

He was denied bail after it emerged in court that he had been evading police for years.

A man accused of trying to hijack Generations star Rapulana Seiphemo was denied bail by the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Tsekiso Mofokeng said Nathi Msiza (26) this ruling was made because he had other charges pending against him.

“The suspect could not be granted bail because he had been evading police for the past few years. He has committed a number of crimes around Pretoria in the past and failed to appear before court,” he said.

Generations: The Legacy actor Rapulana Seiphemo (48) was almost hijacked in Centurion last month, on Valentine’s Day after two men made their way into his Audi A4.

According to reports, during the hijacking attempt, Seiphemo crashed into another vehicle leading to the death three people.

Two in the other car and, the third, believed to have been one of the hijackers, was in Seiphemo’s car.

Mzisa, Seiphemo, in the Audi, and Jody van Zyl, who was in the other vehicle, survived the crash.

Mofokeng said Mzisa was discharged from hospital a few days later and remained in custody.
