Motorcyclist hurt in crash

A 49-year-old motorcyclist was seriously hurt when he was knocked over by a vehicle.

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a vehicle in Lyttelton on Friday.

This happened in the morning in Old Johannesburg Road, paramedics said.

“Upon arrival to the scene, paramedics found the 49-year-patient lying on the side of the road,” said Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.

“The man had sustained serious injuries. He was stabilised at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.”

Mathe said the cause of the accident was not immediately clear.
