VW Golf robbers still on the run

The four robbers are accused of killing a man in Brazzaville before fleeing the scene in a grey VW Golf.

Police are still searching for four robbers who have caused chaos in Atteridgeville in the past few months.

The men are believed to have murdered a man in Brazzaville about two weeks ago when they stabbed him to death.

It is believed the men drive around in a grey VW Golf and rob residents at night, police said.

Police spokesperson Captain Thomas Mufamadi said the victim, who was in his 20s, was stabbed several times during an apparent robbery.

“We are still busy with the investigations. No one has been arrested yet but we have a few leads.”

Last week, Mufamadi said police were called to the scene after a man was stabbed several times.

Upon arrival, police found a man had succumbed to his injuries, Mufamadi told Rekord.

Following the yoing man’s murder, Mufamadi said they have not received any complaints from residents.

“According to Brazzaville residents, the four men driving the VW Golf have robbed a few people in the last few months.”

“We are still looking for them and plead with the community to help us find them,” he said.

Mufamadi gave tips on what the community can do to avoid being victims.

“We urge residents to lookout for each other especially if they are walking in isolated areas. If possible, residents must avoid walking alone at night.”

“Another thing they have to do is not to accept lifts from strangers,” he said.
