Former minister hijacked in Centurion

The former Communications Minister Siphiwe Nyanda was reportedly hijacked in Centurion on Tuesday night.

Former communications minister Siphiwe Nyanda was reportedly hijacked in Rooihuiskraal on Tuesday evening, ANC spokesperson Keith Khoza said.

According to his Facebook post, three armed men hijacked him and fled in his blue Porsche Panamera.

“The suspects took the Johannesburg route.”

Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza said the car was later recovered a few kilometres away.

“No one was arrested and the car was recovered. No shots were fired either,” she told Rekord.

Khoza said there were things removed from the car.

“We are still battling to get hold of him.”

A case of hijacking was being investigated.
