
Police have arrested two men after a robbery at a lodge in Strydfontein, Akasia, in the early hours of Thursday.
Two vehicles belonging to guests were also stolen.
Spokesperson Captain Riana van Aarde said the two men were nabbed after police tracked down the stolen cars.
“Six suspects robbed three people at gunpoint in Kgabo lodge where laptops, cellphones and two vehicles were stolen,” she said.
“Following the robbery, the tracking device unit together with the Akasia police tracked down the vehicles. A BMW was found Mamelodi and a Toyota Tazz in Eersterust,”
Van Aarde said the two men were caught in the different areas following a lengthy chase.
“They will appear in court soon while the other four are still on the run.”
Van Aarde thanked the Eersterust and Mamelodi police for assisting in the arrest to the two men.
