Police respond to man stabbed in face on Monday night.
Police have confirmed that no case was opened after a man was found stabbed in the face behind his steering wheel on Monday night east of Pretoria.
Both Boschkop and Garsfontein police have confirmed no case was reported regarding a man found stabbed on the corner of Lynnwood Road and Solomon Mahlangu Drive.
Garsfontein police spokesperson Warrant Officer Dave Miller said no reports were received at the station regarding the stabbing.
“A case might still be opened at a later stage by the injured man,” Miller said.
The man was in a critical condition when medics found him on Monday night, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.
She said medics found the man with multiple stab wounds behind the steering wheel of his car at around 23:13. He was also stabbed in the face.
She said it was unclear if the man was a victim of an attempted hijacking or robbery.
“Medics stabilised the man before taking him to hospital.”
