NEWSFLASH: Pta West man killed in mob justice
He was attacked and killed after he allegedly tried to rape a woman on Friday morning.
A suspected rapist was killed by an angry mob in Lotus Gardens, Pretoria West, on Friday morning.
Pretoria West CPF spokesperson Thesigan Pillay said the man in his twenties was attacked after it was reported that he tried to rape a woman.
“We received information about a mob justice and upon arrival to the scene, we found the body of a man. According to the community, he was beaten several times after he attempted to rape a woman.”
Pillay condemned the killing but he said the the community had become frustrated with the police over the increse in crime.
An eyewitness, who asked not to be named, said the man was also pelted with stones.
Pretoria West police couldn’t be reached for comment.
