None hurt in Centurion heist attempt
Several shots fired in an attempted cash-in-transit heist Saturday night.

No one was wounded in a hail of bullets fired in an attempted cash-in-transit heist in Centurion on Saturday night.
Chaos erupted around 21:00 when a number of men opened fire on a security van in Highveld.
Pierre Viviers of Sector 2 Wierdabrug CPF told Rekord no one was hurt.
Hannes du Buisson, a Centurion concerned citizen, said it seemed that a group of armed robbers targeted a G4S security vehicle. As they started firing shots randomly, another security vehicle arrived on scene.
“It appears that a second security vehicle arrived by chance and the robbers, thinking it was a back-up vehicle, fired shots at them as well,” told Du Buisson.
The attackers then retreated and were seen driving away from the scene in a white Mercedes C-class vehicle and black bakkie.
It appeared that nothing was stolen. A number of empty cartridges were found on scene.
Police investigations were continuing.
