O’Sullivan out on R20 000 bail
Well-known forensic and private investigator Paul O'Sullivan was released on R20 000 bail on Monday.
Top forensic investigator Paul O’Sullivan is out on R20 000 bail after he appeared in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Monday, for contravening the Immigration Act.
According to reports, O’Sullivan was instructed to report to the Sandton police station daily and should not be within less than 5 kilometres of any international airport.
The private investigator was arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport on Friday, in possession of three passports.
His arrest came after the Hawks received a tip off from the Department of Home Affairs that someone was using more than one passport. O’Sullivan was travelling with his family at the time of his arrest.
According to O’Sullivan’s representatives, the forensic investigator was not trying to flee the country but accompanying his daughters back to their London school.
The investigator was instrumental in the case against disgraced former Police Commissioner Jackie Selebi and played a role in the case against Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir.
He will reappear in court on 6 May.
