A 53-year-old man burnt to death at his home at Kekana Gardens in Hammanskraal on Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said this happened around 04:30. Residents noticed smoke coming from a house.
“Police were immediately called to the scene and upon their arrival, they found the house locked,” he said.
“They forced open a door and inside they found a man on fire on a couch.”
Moremi said police used water and sand to extinguish the fire but it was already too late as the man was found dead.
“The deceased was alone in the house at the time of the fire. The cause of fire is still unknown and a docket was opened for further investigation.”
