Gauteng police are calling on the public for help and for information about a man that had been found tied up and burned in a field on Tuesday afternoon.
Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said the white man’s identity was unknown.
ER24 spokesperson Ceri van Zyl said the man was found after G4S security guards noticed a fire next to the R21 between the Olifantsfontein on- and off-ramps south east of Centurion.
They alerted firefighters and paramedics.
ER24 and Orange Fox paramedics responded.
“On arrival ER24 paramedics found that fire services had already extinguished what seemed to be a small fire,” Van Zyl said.
“On inspection, paramedics discovered the burnt body of a man lying on the roadside. His feet had apparently been bound with wire.”
Dlamini said a case of murder is being investigated, but police do not have any suspects.
