Bus fleet owner shot dead

A man was shot dead outside his bus depot in the west of Pretoria on Thursday night.

A 68-year-old man was shot dead outside his business premises in the west of Pretoria on Thursday night.

Best Care Ambulance spokesperson Xander Loubser said the man was shot inside his vehicle on Erma Street.

“On our arrival, he had signs of life. We tried to resuscitate him but after 10 minutes of effort, he succumbed to his injuries,” Loubser said.

He said the man had multiple gunshot wounds to the chest including one on his shoulder and hand.

The man was the owner of a bus renting service and was shot outside the depot, Loubser said.

“Police are investigating. So far it is believed that two suspects were involved.”

Police could not provide further information at the time of publishing.
