Elderly man robbed in security complex
Residents were warned to be vigilant after a man was robbed in his Centurion security complex on Saturday.
Residents in security complexes were warned to keep all their doors and gates locked after an elderly man was robbed in Centurion on Saturday afternoon.
Orange Fox Security spokesperson Vanessa Jacobs said the man in his 70s was sitting in his unlocked house in a complex in Zwartkop when an armed man walked in.
“He walked in and held the elderly man at gunpoint. He took the man’s iPad tablet and fled by jumping over the fence.”
Lyttelton Sector 1 CPF, SecMed and the Tshwane metro police attended the scene. No arrests were made, Jacobs said.
Residents were warned to be extra vigilant and to ensure their security gates are closed before driving on.
“Make sure that the gates and your house are always locked. Look out for any suspicious activities or people in your complex and make sure your valuables are locked safely in the house.”
