Manhunt launched for business owner’s killers

Police are appealing for information after an elderly business man was murdered.

Police are appealing to the community for any information after an elderly business owner was shot dead in what appeared to be a hit in the west of Pretoria.

Hercules police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said the 68-year-old man was sitting in his car outside his business on Erma Street when he was approached by two armed men on Thursday night.

“They shot him multiple times and fled by foot. It looks like a hit.”

Best Care Ambulance spokesperson said the man was shot in the chest, shoulder and hand.

“On our arrival, he had signs of life. We tried to resuscitate him but after 10 minutes of effort, he succumbed to his injuries.”

Msimango said nothing else was taken and the motive was still unknown.

“Anyone with information regarding the murder should please contact the Hercules police station on 012 377 4100.”
