Oscar “scammer” to appear in court

Oscar “scammer” will be appearing in the Specialised Commercial Crimes court on Tuesday to face charges of corruption and extortion.

A man who tried to solicit R250 000 from paralympian Oscar Pistorius will appear in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Pretoria on Tuesday.

Tshifhiwa Rudzhadzi was arrested last month after he pretended to be an official of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), able to squash Pistorius’ murder case.

Rudzhadzi has remained behind bars since the arrest and is facing charges of extortion and corruption.

Rudzhadzi has a previous conviction, which means that the charges he now faces fall under schedule 5 of the Criminal Procedures Act. The onus was now him to prove why he should be granted bail.
