ADT helps people to fight crime

ADT hosts hijack prevention and personal safety awareness programmes for residents.

If you do not know how to outsmart a thug who wants to either mug, injure or break into your home, then attend ADT’s fightback workshops which would not cost you a cent as they are free and your life and that of your family depend on them.

“We encourage everyone to come along and take part in this training. The more we know, the better equipped we are to fight back against criminals,” says Philip Uys, ADT‘s district community development manager.

The first workshop, Hijack Prevention, will be on 16 April from 09:00 to 12:00 at the Glenstantia Primary School, in Constantia Park, north east of Pretoria.

The two hands-on training events taking place this month are meant to teach people how to read and evaluate dangerous situations, which will assist in minimising the risk of being hurt during a criminal attack.

You will learn how to recognise a possible attack and how to avoid it.

Personal Safety will then follow on 21 May from 09:00 to 12:00 at the same venue.

The training will focus on situation awareness as a means to recognise pre-assault indicators of violence and mitigate the risk of a confrontation.

It will teach you how to resolve a potentially dangerous situation with minimal injuries.

According to ADT, the training will guide you as to how you can get yourself and your passengers, especially children, out of the vehicle safely during a hijacking.
