UPDATE: Man hands himself in for Eersterust murder
The man wanted in connection with shooting dead an Eersterust man at the weekend, has handed himself to police.
The man wanted in the shooting of Hurchel Jacobus-Ramazan in the street in Eersterust on Sunday, has handed himself in.
According to a reliable source, Jacobus-Ramazan (34) was shot three times after a drug transaction went wrong.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan Van Dyk said the alleged killer handed himself to the Eersterust police station on Tuesday night.
“He came with his attorney. He is charged with murder and will appear in court soon,” Van Dyk said.
Jacobus-Ramazan’s uncle, Christopher Jacobus, said the family were not sure of the motive for the killing.
He said the family heard of the arrest and were waiting for more information.
He said his nephew left five children behind.
“He will be laid to rest on Saturday at 10:00, at the Jabula Ministries,” he told Rekord.
