Shooting tsotsis rob store

Armed security officer grazed by bullet, during a robbery.

Five armed men shot and wounded a security guard after robbing a store at the Shoshanguve Plaza in Block AA on Thursday.

The tsotsis held up the store manager, a 33 year old woman, her assistant and security officers and demanded cellphones, said the police.

Spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said goods of more R20 000 were taken.

“Four men pointed at the manager and ordered her and her team to put cellphones, cash and other items in shopping bags”

Before the tsotsis left the store, they fired at an approaching armed security officer.

Mangena said the officer was only grazed by a bullet.

Outside, the robbers ordered an unarmed security officer to open the entrance gate. He was wounded in the foot when a shot was fired at him.

The culprits fled in a new Silver Mercedes Benz, with registration number BS82BZGP

Items taken included cellphones worth R11 000 and clothes.

Mangena said: “We urge the public to call 0800-600-1000 if they spot the vehicle or the suspects Do not approach them they are armed.”
