Sosh police still searching for rape suspects

Police have still not arrested the suspects in the cases involving the rape of two young girls in Soshanguve last weekend.

Police are still searching for the men who raped two teens in Soshanguve last weekend.

Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said the police were still searching for the men who raped a 14-year-old and 15-year-old in separate incidents in Blocks KK and JJ, Soshanguve respectively.

“The suspects are known to the police. We believe they are hiding. We are investigating. We will get them soon,” said Mangena.

The 14-year-old was raped around 18:10 last Saturday.

“A woman reported that she received an SMS from her daughter informing her that a man known to her had raped her. The kid was found crying and bruised. The suspect has since fled and we are still searching for him,” said Mangena.

In the second incident, Mangena said a 15-year-old girl who had been sent to the shop by her mother, reported that she had been raped by a man known to her.

“The victim reported that the man offered her a drink which had allegedly been spiked then forced her into his home where he raped her,” he said.
