Oscar returns to court

Convicted paralympian is expected to appear in Court on Monday.

Former paralympian superstar Oscar Pistorius is expected to appear at the North Gauteng High Court for the postponement of his sentence hearing.

Pistorius who was found guilty for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp faces a term of 15 years after his bid to appeal the murder conviction was denied by the constitutional Court last month.

The court would formally postpone the sentencing to June 18.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Nathi Mncube last month said members of the public and the media were advised that sentencing procedures in the Oscar Pistorius matter would not commence on 18 April 2016 as reported previously in the media.

He said the 18th of April 2016 was a date provisionally arranged pending the outcome of Mr Pistorius’ application to appeal the Supreme Court of Appeal’s judgment.

He said the sentencing would commence between the 13 and 18 June 2016 at the Gauteng division of the High Court in Pretoria.
