Man struck by car on busy road

Man hit by a vehicle as he tried to cross a busy road.

A man was hit by a car on Monday morning.

The man believed to be in his thirties sustained moderate injuries,” said Netcare911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.

The incident happened on Paul Kruger Street, corner of Lavender Road in Wonderboom, north of Pretoria.

According to Mathe, the man was crossing the road at the time of the accident.

“The exact cause of the accident will remain a subject for a police investigation and comment,” she said.

Netcare911 paramedics stabilised the man on the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital.

Please wear or carry something light-coloured, bright or fluorescent in poor daylight conditions.

Do not cross until there is a safe gap in the traffic and you are certain that there is plenty of time for you to get to the other side. Remember, even if traffic is a long way off, it may be approaching very quickly.
