Blood-stained clothes, cellphone break murder case

A 25-year-old man was arrested for murder after a body was found in a Cullinan street.

A man was arrested in his home on Monday, after police had found a bloodied body in the street shortly before.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Michael Mbewe said a body of a man was in a pool of blood when it was discovered in Refiloe, Cullinan, by a passerby.

“A quick search by police was launched. During the search in Refiloe, extension 2, police found the deceased’s pair of shoes, cellphone and a blood-stained jacket in a house.”

He said the 25-year-old accused was sleeping at the time of arrest.

“He was questioned then detained immediately.”

The accused will appear in the Cullinan Magistrate’s Court to face a murder charge soon, Mbewe said.

“Investigations are continuing.”
