Another remote jamming incident caught on camera
New video shows just how quickly thieves with a remote jammer operate.
A new video showing just how fast thieves with a remote signal jammer steal items from a car, has gone viral.
The CCTV footage, recorded at a BP service station in Johannesburg, shows a man parking his Kia Picanto in front of a convenience store, locking his car with his remote then walking away without checking if the car is actually locked.
A white bakkie immediately pulls up next to the Picanto, a man jumps out on the passenger side, opens the Picanto’s door and removes something from the car.
He then gets back in the bakkie and drives away, all within seconds of the man leaving his car.
Lyttelton police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu has warned motorists to be on the alert for remote jammers.
“Remote jamming happens often, and we urge people to make sure their cars are locked before they go into the shops,” said Gumbu.
