Man arrested for possession of drugs

Ga-Rankuwa Police arrested a man for possession of dagga and drugs.

A man (25) was arrested for possession of dagga and other drugs in Zone 1, Ga-Rankuwa on Wednesday.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Mathews Nkoadi said police received a tip-off about a man selling drugs in Zone 1, Ga-Rankuwa.

“Police drove to the house and found the man hiding in a back room,” said Nkoadi.

The man was searched by the police and K9 unit. Dagga was found in his possession.

“When they searched the house police also found nyaope and syringes,” said Nkoadi.

“The man was arrested and detained, and charged with possession of drugs,” said Nkoadi.

The man will appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court soon.

Nkoadi said residents should report any misconduct and/or any criminal activities to the police.

Information may be forwarded to the provincial duty brigadier (082 313 8299) and provincial duty general (082 444 4354) at all hours.
