Young man held over dagga

A young man will appear in the Hatfield Regional Court soon after he was caught with dagga in Eersterust on Thursday.

A man was caught with 4.5g of dagga in his possession in Eersterust on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo said the 19-year-old man was arrested by officers patrolling the Nantes area.

“Sergeant Rammala and Constable Mashaba were on patrol when they noticed a group of men acting suspiciously,” he said.

“The officers confronted the men and asked permission to search them.”

One of the men had dagga in his possession and was detained at the police station.

He was expected to appear in the Hatfield Regional Court soon.
