BREAKING NEWS: Two people burnt in the east

Police, medics and security firms responded to a riot in Plastic View.

Two people were burnt in what is said to be Xenophobic attacks east of Pretoria at the weekend.

Directorate of Specialised Security (DSS) spokesperson Brandon Morgan said two people were taken by medics when they were burnt alive in the informal settlement, Plastic View on Sunday.

Morgan said Netcare medics were seen taking the two burnt victims away.

“We arrived on the scene and were told a group of South Africans were fighting against several Zimbabweans”

He said it was unclear what initiated the attacks around 16:00.

“It is total chaos here,” he said.

Morgan said it seemed more people were regrouping.
