Lyttelton police hunt for house robbers
Police call for help finding three house robbers targeting homes around Centurion.
The Lyttelton police are hunting for three different house robbers connected to two different house robberies at the end of March.
Both robberies were registered directly after each other at the station.
The first robber (shown in the images as ‘Suspect 1′) worked alongside an unidentified partner to rob a man and his girlfriend while they were sleeping.
Suspect 1 and his partner woke the victims by shining a flashlight in their eyes while they were in bed. Both men were armed.
They then demanded that the man and his girlfriend hold out their arms. They then tied their hands with a lamp cord and a cellphone charger before covering their faces with a blanket.
Both men then rummaged through man’s wallet, looting R200 and his bank cards. They then demanded his PIN number for his bank cards.
Suspect 1 then stayed behind while his accomplice left to draw money. He managed to withdraw R2 500 before returning.
They then stole Dell and Lenovo laptops, a Hisense TV and a pellet gun before fleeing in the victims’ cars, a white Chevrolet Cruze and a white Volkswagen Citi Golf.
Suspect 1 is roughly 28 years old, 1.6m tall, has small, slanted eyes, and short hair.
In the second robbery, two men, identified as Suspect 1 and Suspect 2, entered a house while the victim, a 51-year-old woman, was sleeping. The two men walked up to the woman and pointed a Glock pistol in her face. Both suspects were wearing rubber gloves.
They told the woman to keep quiet or they would kill her. They then left the room and rummaged through the house.
They stole an iPhone, a Macbook, a desktop PC, a handbag, and a safe containing R400 and a passport. They then fled the scene.
Suspect 1 is aged between 33 and 40, is of small build, and 1,6m tall.
Suspect 2 is roughly 30 years old, 1,8m tall, and tall but not skinny.
Lyttelton police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu called on anyone with information about any of the three suspects to phone the station on 012-644-8694.
