Frikkies Fitness is Back!

His alter ego, Frikkie, provides some alternative ways of making sure that you are race ready.

Your favorite running coach is back with his expert training advice to help Pretoria’s ladies get ready for the 2016 Pretoria SPAR Women’s Challenge race. A new series of Frikkies Fitness videos will be released over the next two months in the run up to the race on 3 September.

As a SPAR Women’s Challenge brand ambassador, local comedian Bouwer Bosch will once again be entertaining and motivating race entrants with his special brand of humour and those legendary puns. His alter ego, Frikkie, provides some alternative ways of making sure that you are race ready.

Last year, the videos were viewed on 34 687 occasions on YouTube and other social media channels proving that Pretoria ladies enjoy the fun side of fitness. Among his popular advice is don’t StaSoft, go out for lunges not lunches and a good tekkie is like a good friend; there are two of them and they can get a bit sweaty.

At the 2016 race launch, Frikkie commented that he felt great about coming back after his success at last year’s race. “I came 915th which is a personal best for me and pretty impressive given that the weather conditions were not ideal. This year I’m gunning for the 800th place.”

Commenting on the 2016 race theme, gratitude, Frikke said he was most grateful for the goodie bags to be given out at the race and for the calories he would burn in the race – which would allow him to indulge in some boerewors rolls once it was over.

Check out Frikkies Fitness videos on YouTube on the Bouwer Bosch channel or on the SPAR Women’s Challenge Pretoria Facebook page.
