Bail denied for trio in possession of cop equipment
Police got tip off from the community about three males who are in possession of unlicensed firearms
Three men caught in Winterveldt with police equipment and other stolen items in their possession were denied bail on Friday.
Lucky Pilusa (18), Jerry Zitha (21) and Eddie Chabalala (24) appeared in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court.
They will be back in court on 20 July.
The three were arrested on Wednesday by members of the Tshwane North cluster team working in partnership with the Crime Intelligence Unit.
Police spokesperson, Constable Petunia Chabangu said live ammunition, firearms and equipment used by the police were among the items found in their possession.
Some of the other goods recovered goods had been stolen.
“Police were tipped off by the community about three men in possession of unlicensed firearms,” said Chabangu.
Police responded swiftly and found the police equipment after searching their house.
The three were charged with possession of stolen properties and possession of unlicensed ammunition.
