A man was arrested for rape this week.
Police spokesperson Captain Sarah Lesabane said a 23-year-old woman was raped in Sekampaneng, north of Pretoria, on Tuesday morning around 03:30.
“The victim said she was woken by the sound of her bedroom door opening and saw a man holding a knife.”
“The woman said her four-year-old daughter was in the bedroom with her.”
Lesabane said the man forced the woman to the floor and raped her. The woman’s daughter was unharmed.
“When the woman reported the matter, she said she recognised the man,” said Lesabane.
The man (30) was arrested at his home in Suurman Section 1, on Thursday.
A case of rape was opened and the man would appear in the Moretele Magistrate’s Court soon.
