Residents warned to be vigilant
“We noticed our garage doors wouldn’t open and only our house was in complete darkness.”
Centurion residents have been warned to be vigilant after a couple was almost ambushed by two men at their home on Friday night.
According to a post on the Centurion Concerned Citizens Facebook page, a woman and her husband arrived home on Friday and found their home in complete darkness.
Centurion Concerned Citizens spokesperson Hannes du Buisson said the couple live in Eldoraigne.
“We noticed our garage doors wouldn’t open and that it was only our house that was in complete darkness,” wrote the woman.
“When my husband went to check the main switch box outside, two men stumbled out [of their hiding place] and ran away.”
The woman said the men had broken the electrical box open and she found a rope lying in front of their garage door.
“I am not sure what the plan was,” she said.
